App Update – Where!

By

On October 11, 2008

I found Where! to be quite useful during my recent "iPhone Road Trip".

Where! helped me locate gas when my car was on vapors and coffee when I was flling asleep at the wheel.

For that reason alone I am a fan!

Where! was just updated and got some neat new functionality in the process.

With Where! you can now…

App Update: White Noise

By

On

I recently reviewed the app White Noise.

White Noise is one of the many background noise apps available currently in the App Store, but it was, in my opinion, the best of the bunch.

Now that it has been updated to version 2.0 it is even better.

Transcription Coming To Note2Self

By

On October 10, 2008

This is HUGE NEWS for iPhone users.

As I have noted previously, I am a big fan of using voice recognition with my computer and transcription services such as Jott and reQall with my iPhone.  At this point, I don’t know what I would do without them.

The problem with Jott and reQall, however, is that recordings are limited to just 15 or 30 seconds.  While I certainly understand the need to limit the amount of transcription due to cost, bandwidth and general server “drag”, I have been wishing for a solution that allowed me to record far longer notes using my iPhone and have them transcribed.

One solution that has worked, despite its cumbersome implementation, has been making a recording with WebIS’s Note2Self, sending it to my iMac, and then playing it while MacSpeech Dictate transcribes the voice note.  It works more or less but it can be inaccurate and takes too many steps.

Well, the good news is, a solution is on the way thanks to WebIS and Note2Self.

WOiP Tip- Send A Private Tweet With Twittelator Pro

By

On

Don’t let this happen to you…

I went to send a private tweet to a friend of mine but mishandled the “private tweet“ setting.  A private tweet went out to… EVERYONE.

I know, I know, it isn’t brain surgery to send a private tweet but with each Twitter app having its own way of handling private tweets, it gets a bit confusing at times.

Fortunately for me, the tweet didn’t include the nuclear launch codes, any bad language, or gossip.  Still, it was a bit disconcerting to realize how easy it can be to get yourself into a lot of trouble with the tap of a button.

It is for this reason I’m pleased that an update to our favorite iPhone/iPod Touch Twitter client makes private tweeting super easy and downright foolproof.

9 Places To Publicize Your iPhone App

By

There are plenty of different places to get a mobile application designed. The problem is that they’re quite expensive. You might be able to figure out how to create your own, but it will probably look very basic. Instead, a good mobile application development software can make it even easier, so that you can build […]
